Here at the Marmalade Cat we have special dates throughout the year where we hold fun events and activities or where parents and carers can liase with key workers to support their little ones. The specific dates will be posted on the FAMLY app for parents and carers to see and will be added throughout the year.
Highlights
- Parents evening will be a chance to discuss your childs development and to obtain updates from their key worker on how they are getting on.
- Professional photography We have a professional photographer coming in to take our annual photo’s for the children . It will be a chance for individual photographs taken and for photos to be taken with any siblings. We always invite all of our nursery children in to have their photo taken, even if this is not their usual day.
- Pre school sports day/ graduation day is a fun day for parents, grandparents and carers to come and watch their little ones take part in sporting activities, we only encourage healthy competition and believe that everyone is a winner! There will also be a small ceremony held for our older Pre schoolers who are moving on to school where their time and learnings at the Marmalade Cat will be greatly celebrated.
- Charity/ dressing up days we hold charity days and dressing up days throughout the year e.g. red nose day and we recently held an odd for socks day to raise awareness about Huntingtons disease. World book day is always a favourite where children get the opportunity to dress up as a character from their favourite novel.
- Celebrations we always celebrate important dates throughout the year where we create awareness and let the children learn about it through play e.g. featured tuff trays. Sometimes we also hold events to celebrate some of the dates where parents/ carers and grandparents will be given the opportunity to come in and stay whilst the children play at these themed celebrations.
- Chinese New Year we always experience Chinese food on this day!
- Valentines day we share the love and enjoy a candle lit dinner with rosepetals (LED candles of course!)
- Mothers Day we make cards for our mother figures in our life!
- St Patricks Day Irish celebrations and play
- Easter lots of easter arts and crafts are carried out this week and fun activities
- Fathers Day we make cards for the father figures in our life!
- Halloween we host a spooktacular stay and play event
- Christmas Santa visits and pre school do a christmas show whilst the other rooms have christmas themed stay and play
If any children in our care celebrate any other important dates we welcome their families to make us aware of any religious festivals or traditions so that we can also celebrate and create awareness.
